module4 - FIDU back to main page

project in colaboration with: MAS
software: rhino

In this module, students were asked to design the structure using FIDU technology. Our main area of interest was the flexibility of steel form. The specially developed joints between the FIDU bones allowed for an adjustable and easy to manipulate structure, that made the assembling process simple and fast. The result was presented on the international design exhibition DMY in Berlin in June 2010.

After defining connection points, we produced the set of mini bones, in the scale 1:10, with the help of which we proved that within our system the wide variety of structures may be obtained.

In the end we based on a simple equilateral triangle shape. FIDU technology allowed us to replace the straight connection between the nodes with the curved organic ones without losing consistency of the whole.
